Arrests made in last week’s homicide investigation on Flagstaff Road

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Sheriff’s Office detectives obtained arrest warrants for four individuals related to last week’s homicide investigation near the Realization Point trailhead, approximately the 3400 block of Flagstaff Road.

Investigative efforts led investigators to Las Cruces, New Mexico, where interviews were completed, and evidence related to the crime was collected with the assistance of the Las Cruces Police Department. Because of these efforts arrest warrants (currently sealed) were obtained for the following individuals, all of whom are residents of the Las Cruces New Mexico area:

Jaime Alonso Moore, date of birth May 17, 1991:

  • Murder in the First Degree, Colorado Revised Statute (C.R.S.) 18-3-102(1)(a), a class one felony.
  • Murder in the Second Degree, C.R.S. §18-3-103(1)(b), a class two felony.
  • Aggravated Robbery, R.S. §18-4-302(1)(a), a class three felony.

Cody Lee Hobirk, date of birth September 19, 1978:

  • Murder in the Second Degree, C.R.S. §18-3-103(1)(b), a class two felony.
  • Aggravated Robbery, R.S. §18-4-302(1)(a), a class three felony.
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence, R.S. §18-8-610(1)(a), (3)(a), class six felony.

Ashley Lynn Provine, date of birth January 29, 2004:

  • Accessory in First Degree Murder, R.S. §18-8-105(1), (3) a class four felony.
  • Accessory in Second Degree Murder, R.S. §18-8-105(1), (3) a class four felony.
  • Accessory in Aggravated Robbery, R.S. §18-8-105(1), (5) a class five felony.
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence, R.S. §18-8-610(1)(a), (3)(a), class six felony.

Elizabeth Nicole Griffin, date of birth July 16, 1999:

  • Accessory in First Degree Murder, R.S. §18-8-105(1), (3) a class four felony.
  • Accessory in Second Degree Murder, R.S. §18-8-105(1), (3) a class four felony.
  • Accessory in Aggravated Robbery, R.S. §18-8-105(1), (5) a class five felony.
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence, R.S. §18-8-610(1)(a), (3)(a), class six felony.

Ms. Griffin has not yet been arrested, however attempts to locate and arrest her are ongoing. Because of Ms. Griffin’s involvement in the crimes, we do not believe she poses a safety threat to the general public.

Sheriff’s detectives are actively completing additional interviews and collecting additional evidence. Because the investigation is on-going, additional information cannot be released at this time.

As in every criminal case, these charges are merely an accusation and the defendants are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
