1/4 acre fire in Boulder County, Colorado

Grass fire believed to be caused by fireworks

Boulder County, Colo. - On July 10, 2020, at about 11:57 p.m., members of the Boulder Rural Fire Department, Rocky Mountain Fire Protection District and the Boulder County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 3000 block of 63rd Street in Boulder County, Colorado on the report of a grass fire.

Upon arrival, 1/4 of an acre was burning and fire fighters quickly extinguished the flames. No buildings were threatened by the fire and there were no reported injuries. It is believed the fire was started by illegal fireworks. There were reports of fireworks in the sky shortly before the flames were seen.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office case report number for this incident is #20-3043.
