Restoring Our Community

Restoring Our Community Program -- ROC

The Restoring Our Community Program (ROC) is a voluntary substance use disorder treatment program designed for men who have three or more drinking/drugging and driving offenses (DUI/DWAI/DUID, etc.). ROC emphasizes learning new ways to think and behave that can assist clients in dealing with the stressors of life, without resorting to drinking or using drugs. It promotes critical thinking and encourages the goal of lasting sobriety. Abstinence from alcohol and drugs is required during the entire time in the program.

The ROC program collaborates with the DUI Integrated Treatment Team (DITT) in the delivery of substance use treatment services. DITT incorporates the principles of incentives, sanctions, bi-weekly reviews, as well as safety checks and monitored sobriety by the Probation department. DITT is an Alternative Sentence Descriptions that allows a person to continue working while satisfying a jail sentence.

Benefits

Major benefits of the program includes learning skills such as relapse prevention, problems solving, communication and relationship building that will teach you how to manage stress and difficult emotions, while enhancing your motivation to change. Most important is reducing your risk of re-offending. The ROC program can provide you with the tools to reduce and/or eliminate this behavior. You will be in groups with other men working on similar problems. Group interaction and support can be helpful as you work toward making changes in your life.

The program is one of the major steps towards driving legally again; it is licensed by the State of Colorado to provide specific treatment that satisfies court-ordered Level II Four Plus and Level II education and therapy requirements. Upon successfully completing the program, clients will receive a discharge referral summary (DRS), a necessary step in driver’s license reinstatement.

Client Profile

  • Adult men who are willing to participate in this program and abide by all the rules.
  • Should be a Boulder County resident or employed within the county.
  • Have three or more DUI convictions.
  • Referred to the program by the DUI Integrated Treatment Team (DITT).

Referral Process

The probation department of the Twentieth Judicial District will be the primary source of referrals to the ROC program. Defendants who meet the client profile criteria should contact their attorney or public defender for more information on the evaluation process for DITT, before sentencing.

Fee Information

The total cost for the ROC program depends on the level of treatment you are court-ordered to complete. This fee is separate from other court and jail fines and fees. Community Justice Services accepts cash, checks and major credit cards (full payment only for credit cards). Debit cards are not accepted. A fee payment schedule may be arranged by your primary therapist. To pay your ROC program fees online, please visit the Official payments website.
