The 2023 Coordinated Election was on Tuesday, November 7, 2023

Election Results

In the 2023 Coordinated Election, the City of Boulder had 10 candidates vying for 4 open seats on city council. The results showed a vote difference of 47 votes between the 4th place candidate (Schuchard 14,412 votes) to the 5th place candidate (Brncic 14,365 votes). This generated an automatic recount. The recount was held December 5 and 6 and resulted in very minor vote total shifts of no consequence. Below are the updated documents and results. These documents are the updated certified election results and reports for this contest only:

  • Cast Vote Record (CVR) — Ballot level report, which lists the votes for each ballot (including ranked choice voting, the order in which the elector ranked the candidates)
  • Canvass Documents — These are the reports related to the certification of the election, including the post-election risk-limiting audit and reconciliation report and any related documents.
    • The risk-limiting audit is a post-election quality assurance test that ensures the accuracy of election results and provides citizens with evidence that election outcomes reflect the votes cast.
    • The reconciliation report summarizes the process that provides the evidence for the Canvass Board to certify that the number of votes counted is equal to or less than the number of ballots cast and that the number of ballots cast is equal to or less than the number of eligible voters. This document also includes the certification of election statement.
