Community Action Program’s People Engaged in Raising Leaders to Offer Boards and Commissions Training in August

Registration now open for Boards and Commissions training course

Boulder County, Colo. - Community Action Program's People Engaged in Raising Leaders’ (PERL), in partnership with the Latino Chamber of Boulder County, is launching a Boards and Commissions training for interested participants.

The Boards and Commissions training course will begin Aug. 6 and end Aug. 27. Training classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the month of August from 5:45-7 p.m. online via Zoom.

The Boards and Commissions trainings will cover topics such as: Becoming a Board Member or Commissioner, Board Member and Commissioner Responsibilities, Cultural Communication/Effective Communication, Understanding Financials, Fundraising and Philanthropy, Board Applications and Interviewing Processes. There will also be a sponsored Meet-and-Greet and a Boards Fair where trainees will have an opportunity to be in the room with current board members and leaders. Speakers as part of this program include: Nia Wassink, Owner of Mission Launch, Robin Valdez of Boulder County, and Ricardo Cabrera of Longmont Latino Chamber.

There are no fees associated with the offered training course, but there are limited seats available. Interested participants will need internet, a computer, and the appropriate application (Zoom) for the course.
