Volunteer Tour Guides and House Docents Needed at the Agricultural Heritage Center

Application deadline is Thursday, Feb. 27

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Parks & Open Space is now accepting applications for volunteer tour guides and house docents at the Agricultural Heritage Center in Longmont.

The application deadline for volunteers is Thursday, Feb. 27. Training takes place Thursday, March 19, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Volunteer tour guides and farmhouse docents teach visitors about the agricultural history of Boulder County between 1900 and 1925. Tours at the farm showcase historic barns, farm animals (during the busy season), and a furnished 1909 farmhouse.

Volunteers are needed primarily on weekdays to lead tours for school groups. House docents are also needed for weekends and special events. House docents focus on greeting visitors and giving tours of the farmhouse. There are also opportunities to assist with our story time and “Fun on the Farm” programs during the summer.

For more information and to apply please visit the Agricultural Heritage Center Tour Guide webpage or contact Jim Drew at jdrew@bouldercounty.org.
