Trailer fire in the 7400 Blk. of Valmont Road, One Deceased

Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Communications Center received a call at 10:09 a.m. this morning about a travel trailer that was on fire in the 7400 block of Valmont Road in unincorporated Boulder County.

Upon arrival, first responders found a travel trailer to be fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire was extinguished, a deceased person was found to be inside of the trailer. The preliminary investigation reveals that the decedent may have started the fire.

The following agencies responded to this incident: Rocky Mountain Fire, The Lafayette Fire Department, The Boulder Rural Fire Department, Louisville Ambulance, Mountain View Ambulance, M.A.F.I.T. (Multi Agency Fire Investigative Team) and The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is on-going, but at this time there is nothing suspicious about the incident. The identification of the decedent, as well as the cause and manner of death will be released by the Boulder County Coroner.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by M.A.F.I.T. and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office associated case number is 19-6366.
