Lost Hiker Located

Hiker deviates from the Royal Arch Trail was located walked out

Boulder County, Colo. -

On Friday, September 27, 2019 at approximately 6:19 p.m., The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a lost hiker near the Fourth Flatiron located in unincorporated Boulder County.

A male in his late 20’s deviated from the Royal Arch Trail and was unable to find his way back. Limited light and rain prompted the hiker to contact 9-1-1. The hiker was advised to shelter in place while the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, City of Boulder Open Space Rangers and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to assist.

A rescue group entered the field to locate the lost hiker. The hiker was located uninjured near the Fourth Flatiron. The rescue group and hiker walked out of the field approximately five hours later.
