Mountain biker falls on High Plains trail

Male in his mid-50's injured while biking

Boulder County, Colo. - On September 25, 2019 at about 5:55 p.m., Boulder County Communications received a call about an injured bicyclist who had fallen from his bike. The cyclist was reported to have been riding on the High Plains trail near Highway 128 located in unincorporated Boulder County.

The male, who is in his mid-50’s, was traversing the trail when he fell due to an unknown cause. Rescue personnel arrived on scene and located him in a short amount of time. Rescue personnel extracted the male by utilizing a one-wheeled stretcher to the awaiting ambulance. He was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the rescue by Lafayette Fire Department, Rocky Mountain Fire, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and City of Boulder Parks and Open Space Rangers.
