Female with dislocated knee rescued from Winiger Ridge overnight
Boulder County, Colo. - On Sunday, September 1, at approximately 9:08 p.m., the Sheriff's Communications Center received a 911 call that a female in her late teens had fallen in the area of Winiger Ridge and had dislocated her knee. The female had been camping with friends in the area and reportedly fell at their campsite.
Rescue personnel responded and subsequently evacuated the female by watercraft with the assistance of Denver Water. The teen was transported by boat to an awaiting ambulance at Osprey Point on the south side of Gross Reservoir. The entire rescue operation took approximately two hours.
The rescue operation was coordinated by the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, and they were assisted by the sheriff's office, AMR Ambulance, Coal Creek Canyon Fire and Timberline fire protection districts.
The case number associated with the rescue is 19-5097.
