Dear Boulder County Voters,
We are seeking input on voting locations for the November 2026 General Election.
To provide input, please first review our proposed 2026 Vote Center locations and 24-Hour Ballot Drop Box locations as well as the additional info below this section on requirements and considerations.
The deadline to submit comments to Boulder County Elections regarding these locations is April 27, 2026* (see Colorado election statue for details: 1-5-102.9(1)(c)(II) and 1-7.5-105(1)(b)). However, we need input much sooner in order to consider feedback. Ideally, we are seeking initial input by March 1, 2026.
Please use the survey form below to submit comments. You may also submit comments by mail at 1750 33rd Street, Suite 200, Boulder, CO 80301.
Sincerely,

Molly Fitzpatrick
Boulder County Clerk & Recorder
Additional Information / Considerations:
- Boulder County Elections uses a geographic siting tool to help identify areas to place Vote Centers and attempts to equitably distribute them throughout the county based on population centers and serving historically under-represented communities. However, we are always looking for additional ideas.
- A number of our ballot drop box locations are changing in 2026 due to one of the following reasons: ADA compliance, video security needs, or close-by location with better public accessibility/traffic.
- Vote Center recommendations should consider the following factors: accessibility and convenience, proximity to population centers and public transportation, accessibility for persons with disabilities, accessibility for historically under-represented communities, and facilities that can ensure the security of voting equipment.
- Locations for 24-Hour Mail Ballot Drop Boxes must allow for the installation of a security camera on premise, which requires availability of electrical power and internet service.
- Our office also considers public transportation, traffic impacts, parking, and foot traffic for both vote centers and drop boxes.
- Additionally, while we do occasionally use religious facilities to host Vote Centers, and are grateful to have access, it is best practice to use alternative community spaces, when possible.
- While Boulder County’s number of ballot boxes already exceeds the legal requirement needed, we are always looking for additional locations and feedback on the boxes already in place.
*There are actually two phases of public input and comment. The first phase ends in late April (designation period). We will then update our proposed location lists if any changes have been made and then continue taking public comment until the statutory close of the comment period, which ends June 8, 2026.
