Two Climbers Rescued

Two brothers rescued after 60 foot fall

Boulder County, Colo. -

On Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 9:39 a.m. the Boulder County Sheriff's Office along with Rocky Mountain Fire Authority, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and Boulder County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services responded to Eldorado Canyon State Park, 9 Kneale Road on Wind Tower in Boulder County, Colorado on the report of a fallen climber.

When rescuers arrived they located two fallen, injured climbers, who happen to be brothers. The 38 year-old brother resides in Kansas, and the 29 year-old brother resides in Colorado. It is believed that the brothers may have fallen between 60-80 feet. The 29 year-old was able to walk out on his own aided by rescuers, but the 38 year-old required a technical litter evacuation. Both men were transported by ambulance to an area hospital. The rescue lasted approximately 1.5 hours.
