We are in the middle of our pilot phase of our Rainbow Connections volunteer program to combat social isolation and create community for LGBTQ+ older adults in Boulder County. Volunteers are currently matched with recipients in need of phone and/or in-person connection from another LGBTQ+ or allied community member. Meetings are going well and both volunteers and recipients report more connection and less isolation. Volunteers report connecting with their matches through conversation, activity, and experience. We look forward to growing the program in the Fall, so if you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please apply here. If you are interested in being matched with a volunteer, please contact Michael Chifalo at mchifalo@bouldercounty.org.
