The inmate was quickly located, taken into custody and faces additional charges

Boulder, Colo. - Today, January 15, at approximately 3:20 P.M., an inmate in the community worker program fled the jail on a bicycle. The inmate, identified as Rohit Raje, 25, was part of a supervised work crew, and fled the jail while taking out trash.

Deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and officers with the Boulder Police Department conducted a search for the inmate and quickly located him in the 5600 block of Arapahoe Avenue and he was taken back into custody at approximately 3:37 P.M.

Raje was serving a sentence at the jail on the charges of felony stalking, misdemeanor trespass, and misdemeanor violation of a restraining order. His anticipated release date from the original charges was January 29.

As a result of Raje's escape, he has been arrested on additional charges. The additional charges include:

• Escape
• Obstruction
• Trespass
• Reckless endangerment
