June 30, 2026 Primary Election Information
Key Details
- Ballot Information: Registered Democrats will receive only the Democratic Party ballot. Registered Republicans will receive only the Republican Party ballot. Registered Unity Party members will receive only the Unity Party ballot. Registered Libertarian Party members will receive only the Libertarian Party ballot.
- Unaffiliated voters will be mailed both major party ballots (Democratic and Republican), but can only vote and return one ballot. If an unaffiliated voter wants to vote in the Libertarian or Unity Party Primary, see our Unaffiliated Voter FAQ page for details.
- Changing Party Affiliation: See key dates below.
- No Registration Deadline: Colorado does not have a registration deadline. Eligible new voters can register and vote up to and including Election Day.
- When is my ballot due? Ballots must be received no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day.

| May 18 | Early ballot pick up and voter assistance begins at the Elections office. |
| May 26 | If you are planning to update your party registration to vote in another party’s primary, May 26 is the preferred date by which voters change party affiliation to get the correct ballot in the mail. Our mail ballot packets are prepared beginning the next day, thus if affiliation is changed after May 26 voters may receive an incorrect packet in the mail. See below for more deadlines. |
| June 2 | Pre-election testing of ballots and voting system / equipment (Logic and Accuracy Test). RSVP details added below soon. |
| June 8 | Last day for an affiliated voter to change affiliation and vote in a different party's primary. Check your voter registration to see if you are affiliated with a political party. |
| June 8 | Ballots are mailed. |
| June 22 | Vote Centers open for in-person voting and voter assistance. |
| June 22 | Last day request a replacement ballot by mail / register for the first time and be sent a ballot. After this date, come to Vote Center. |
| June 22 | Last recommended day to return your ballot by mail. After this date, return your ballot by drop box or at a Vote Center. |
| June 30 | Election Day! Ballots must be received no later than 7 p.m. If voting in person, you must be in line by 7 p.m. |
| July 8 | Last day to cure signature issues on mail in ballots. Also, Military/Overseas (UOCAVA) mailed ballots must be received by this date. |
| TBA (likely July 14 or 15) | Post-Election Risk-Limiting Audit. Open to the public. More information to come. |
| July 20 | Canvass Board meeting (final presentation and signoff of election). Open to the public. More information to come. |
