Take a Walk With a Boulder County Commissioner
Join a commissioner and county ranger on a beginner-level hike to chat about county happenings
- Each county commissioner welcomes up to 30 residents for a one-hour, beginner level hike on a Parks and Open Space property this coming May and June.
- These walks are a chance to chat with a commissioner in a less formal way and have one on one conversation (time permitting).
- Participants must make their own travel arrangements to the walks.

Boulder County, Colo. -- The Boulder County Commissioners invite residents to take a walk with them at the county’s beautiful Parks & Open Space properties this May and June.
Scheduled for three different Friday mornings around the county, the commissioners look forward to getting out of the office and onto the trails with up to 30 residents for a one-hour stroll and chat. Please register to join them:
--Register to walk with Commissioner Marta Loachamin Friday, May 2, 9 – 10 a.m. at Pella Crossing (11600 N 75th Street, Longmont) Please note: A bilingual park ranger will be on hand to chat with Spanish-speaking residents at this walk.
--Register to walk with Commissioner Claire Levy Friday, May 16, 9 – 10 a.m. at Walden Ponds Wildlife Habitat (3893 N 75th Street, Boulder).
--Register to walk with Commissioner Ashley Stolzmann Friday, June 6, 9 – 10 a.m. at Stearns Lake (Parqueadero, 2190 S 104th St, Broomfield)
Before you visit county open space, please review the POS guidelines on recreating responsibly:
• “Know before you go." Remember to plan ahead, know your limits, and do not take unnecessary risks.
• Enjoy and protect shared public lands. Remember to “Leave No Trace” and pack out all trash and dog waste.
• Be courteous and inclusive. People have different reasons for visiting shared public lands and everyone deserves respect and courtesy while recreating outdoors.
• Do not park illegally at trailheads. If trailhead is full, make sure to park only on roads where parking is permitted.
