Three scramblers assisted off the Regency rock
Boulder County, Colo. - On August 14, 2022, at approximately 8:20 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center was notified of three scramblers who were stuck on the Regency rock formation on the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks property, just west of the city of Boulder.
The three males, ages 23, 24, and 25, were attempting to scramble up the standard route on the Regency formation when they got off the route and ended up in terrain outside their capability. Rescuers from Rocky Mountain Rescue Group hiked in and climbed up to the stuck scramblers. The scramblers were secured with harnesses and helmets before being lowered to the ground on a technical rope system.
None of the three scramblers sustained injuries and were able to walk out to the trailhead, and did not need medical transport. The rescue took approximately five hours.
