Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County and its regional partners are starting a multi-phased re-envisioning of the US Highway 287 corridor between Broomfield and Longmont, including operational improvements for transit to both Ft. Collins and Denver. A virtual public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 12 from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Feasibility Study

This first phase of the study examines the feasibility of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) implementation to address the growing congestion and travel demand in the area. The study will make recommendations on transit routes and infrastructure to improve travel speed and reliability on US 287.

The study will assess traffic patterns, current transit operations and infrastructure, congestion triggers, and opportunities for intersection improvements, and propose a toolkit to upgrade transit stations and the infrastructure surrounding them.
