Program Summary: | Using native seeds in re-vegetation efforts is essential to restoring native plant diversity. Often times, however, native seeds are not available commercially, they are too expensive, or the available seeds are not ecologically appropriate. Volunteers will be helping to secure native seed for future restoration projects by hand-collecting a sweet little annual flower, called woolly plantain. Although not the most showy, this is an important one because it is one of the few flowering annuals we have available to collect in Boulder County! Diversity = Resiliency! Local botanists will work on-site and provide identification of wildflowers and other native plants during the project. Minimum age is 5 with adult supervision. This species is plentiful and easy to ID, making it a family friendly affair which can be followed by a beautiful hike through our super-special southern grasslands! Sign up today!
