Wildland Fire near Meyers Gulch

Fire Crews Quickly Contained and Extinguished the Fire

Boulder County, Colo. - On February 25th, 2024 at approximately 8:20PM, a Boulder County Sheriff’s Deputy investigating a noise complaint located a wildland fire near the Meyers Gulch Trailhead, in the 7200-block of Flagstaff Road. The fire was initially reported to be in an open grassy area and less than one acre in size. As the deputy assessed the fire and called for additional resources, the fire spread to one tree in the area.

Mountain View Fire Rescue, Boulder Rural Fire Protection, Boulder Fire-Rescue, Louisville Fire Protection District, and Lafayette Fire Department responded to the incident. The responding agencies were able to quickly contain and extinguish the fire, preventing further spread and avoiding damage to any structures. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Multi-Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT).

The associated case number for the incident is 24-01024.
