Volunteer Opportunities at the Nederland Mining Museum and Assay Office Museum

Application deadline is April 3. Training takes place April 30.

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Parks and Open Space is now accepting applications for volunteers to work at the Nederland Mining Museum and James F. Bailey Assay Office Museum.

Volunteers welcome visitors to the museums, teach them about the mining history of Boulder County, answer questions about the exhibits and the local area. “Volunteers enjoy sharing the area’s history with visitors from all over the world” says Sheryl Kippen, Cultural History Program Coordinator.

Training will also prepare volunteers to lead educational programs for organized groups such as schools, senior centers, and interest groups.

Hours vary depending on site, but average between 4-8 hours per month.

Application deadline is April 3. Training takes place April 30.

For more information and to apply please visit the Volunteer Opportunity web page Mining Museum Guide or contact Sheryl Kippen at skippen@bouldercounty.org.
