Voices of Open Space: New Podcast Series from Boulder County Parks & Open Space
New podcast series from Boulder County Parks & Open Space brings stories of land, people, and stewardship to life.
Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Parks & Open Space has launched a new podcast series called Voices of Open Space. It is a storytelling journey into the heart of public lands and the people who care for them.
Voices of Open Space takes listeners behind the scenes to explore how conservation, sustainability, and community stewardship shape these treasured landscapes. Through real conversations with naturalists, volunteers, scientists, land managers, authors, and community members, the series highlights the values, challenges, and successes of protecting Boulder County’s open spaces.
“This podcast offers a chance to connect more deeply with the people and stories behind the trails, forests, grasslands, and wildlife habitats we all cherish,” said Melissa Arnold, Land Officer and host of the first episode. “It’s about honoring the ongoing work to care for these lands—and the passion that fuels it.”
The first episode, titled The Origin Story, is available now, and additional episodes will be released approximately every two weeks. Future episodes will feature a range of voices and topics, including prairie restoration, wildlife research, youth engagement, and the changing role of public lands in community life.
Whether you are a lifelong local or new to the area, Voices of Open Space hopes to inspire you to see the land—and your role in it—in a new way.
