UPDATE: Search warrant executed after threats made online

Boulder County, Colo. - Unfortunately, the Sheriff’s Office cannot release very much additional information from yesterday’s search warrant in Superior. As previously mentioned, the tip which led to the search warrant was from a credible source, however, there are currently NO known threats to specific schools or specific timelines; only a number of comments that occurred over several months encouraging school shootings and racially biased material and other threats of violence.

The comments led to interference with the Boulder Valley School District and concerned investigators. Out of an abundance of caution for the community, the sheriff’s office executed the search warrant at the residence where investigators recovered a handgun, along with journals and digital evidence.

The seized evidence is being searched and should the sheriff’s office develop information of a credible threat, we will immediately take additional action to protect the community. As additional evidence is uncovered, and if probable cause for an arrest develops, investigators will make appropriate arrest(s).

The previous media release on this can be found online.
