Update on the investigation into missing person case from Marshall Fire

Boulder County, Colo. - Investigators with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and the Boulder County Coroner’s Office have been actively searching a property in the Town of Superior for the remains of Edna Nadine Turnbull. The property is where Ms. Turnbull, after being notified to evacuate, entered the residence in an effort to rescue her dogs during the Marshall Fire on December 30, 2021.

At this point in the investigation, we can confirm small bone fragments have been recovered and scientific testing is underway to determine if the collected fragments are human or non-human. Scientific testing can take weeks to months in these cases.

We remain committed to seeking answers and closure for the Turnbull family.
