Summer Heritage Morning, Sunday, July 23, hosted by Boulder County Parks & Open Space

Walker Ranch Homestead, 7701 Flagstaff Road

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Parks & Open Space will host the Summer Heritage Morning event on Sunday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Walker Ranch Homestead, 7701 Flagstaff Road.

Embark on an unforgettable journey to the past with this immersive historical event that will transport you back to the late 1800s.

As you wander through the picturesque landscape of the Walker Ranch Homestead, you'll encounter friendly costumed volunteers who bring the European settler history of the ranch to life. Engage in conversations with these knowledgeable guides as they demonstrate the daily tasks and traditions of the era.

But the adventure doesn't stop there! You will have the opportunity to roll up your sleeves and actively participate! Forge a deeper connection to the past through hands-on learning as you engage in activities that were once an integral part of ranch life. And for the young and young-at-heart, immerse yourselves in the joy of playing historical games, an entertaining way to experience the past together.

Guided tours will take place throughout the event. Activities include the following:

  • Blacksmith Demonstrations
  • Log House Cooking
  • Butter Churning
  • Old Fashioned Laundry
  • Old Fashioned Games
  • Shingle Making
  • General Store

Please note that activities are subject to change based on volunteer availability.

If you like, bring a picnic and blanket as there are no tables at the homestead.
