Stearns Lake Trailhead at Carolyn Holmberg Preserve to close July 22 – Oct. 15

Parking lot will be closed for improvements. Trails will be open but access will be limited.

Boulder County, Colo. - The parking lot, restroom, kiosk, and picnic shelter at the Stearns Lake Trailhead at Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at Rock Creek Farm will be closed for parking lot improvements beginning Monday, July 22, through Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Very limited parking will be available along S. 104th St. with pedestrian/equestrian/bike access available just south of the trailhead. All trails will remain open except a short segment near the parking lot and the current wildlife closure on a portion of the Cradleboard Trail.

The project will include an expansion of the parking lot, surface grading, two new culverts for improved drainage, and a concrete sidewalk from the accessible parking to the restroom and the kiosk. Parking spaces will increase to 25 regular parking spots and two ADA van accessible parking spots. There will be no trailer parking in the new lot.

For more information about the site, a live-camera view of the parking lot, and the latest project updates, please visit the Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at Rock Creek Farm webpage. For detailed questions about the project please contact project manager Mary Olson at molson@bouldercounty.gov or 303-678-6186.
