Stage 1 fire restrictions rescinded for western unincorporated Boulder County
Recent Precipitation Has Decreased Fire Danger
Boulder County, Colo. - Sheriff Curtis Johnson has rescinded the Stage 1 fire restrictions that were in place for western areas of unincorporated Boulder County. This decision was made after careful review of current fuel moisture conditions, long-term forecasts, and fire activity. We will continue to monitor conditions and will reinstate fire restrictions should conditions necessitate it.
Residents are reminded that although the fire restrictions have been rescinded, there are still permit requirements in place for slash burning and broadcast burns, also known as prescribed fires or open burning. Go to the Boulder County Open Burning Portal to apply for a burn permit or register your agricultural burn.
