Small Wildland Caused by Lightning Quickly Extinguished

Boulder County, Colo. -

On July 10, 2022 at approximately 2:54 p.m., Boulder County Sheriff's Office Communications was notified of a small wildland fire in the area of Olde Stage Road and Red Hill Road.

Emergency personnel arrived to find that two trees and approximately a 20 foot by 20 foot section of grass was on fire. The fire was slow-moving and not posing an immediate threat to nearby structures.

The first was quickly extinguished and deemed to be caused by a lightning strike.

Responding agencies included: Lefthand Fire District, Boulder Rural Fire District, and the Boulder County Sheriff's Office Fire Management Team.
