Scrambler rescued from 2nd Flatiron
Climber uninjured after getting stuck on rockface
Boulder County, Colo. - On Sunday, April 25, 2021 at approximately 3:32 p.m., the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a climber who became stuck in the area of the Dodge Block Route on the 2nd Flatiron, just outside of the City of Boulder. The 25-year-old male from Denver became separated from his friend and was not using climbing equipment.
Members of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group climbed up to the stuck party, secured him and lowered him to the ground. The stuck climber’s friend was able to make it off the rock on his own. The rescue took approximately three hours.
Agencies assisting with this rescue effort included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
