Rescue on Flagstaff Mountain

Male assisted after a fall near the Ampitheater

Boulder County, Colo. -

On Thursday, July 23, 2020 at approximately 7:58 p.m. the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a male who stated that he had fallen in the area of the Amphitheater on the summit of Flagstaff Mountain. The 49 year old male was located by a City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Ranger approximately 300 feet down from the east end of the Amphitheater. After further examination by first responders, the intoxicated male was cleared to walk up to the parking lot with assistance. The rescue took approximately forty minutes.

Agencies assisting with this rescue effort included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, American Medical Response, City of Boulder Fire Department, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
