PRESS RELEASE – FILING OF CHARGES AGAINST SUSPECT IN JUNE 1ST PEARL STREET ATTACK, PERTAINING TO 15 VICTIMS AND A DOG
Boulder County, Colo. - The suspect in connection with the June 1st attack on the gathering on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado is set for a Return of Filing of Charges Thursday, June 5th at 3:30 pm in the Boulder County Jail courtroom. This court appearance will be on the state charges, which will include Attempted Murder in the First Degree and related charges.
This is a hearing where the District Attorney’s Office formally files charges against the defendant after determining there is sufficient evidence for the District Attorney’s Office to proceed. This occurs before the preliminary hearing or arraignment. In criminal cases in Colorado, the most common document to initiate a case is a criminal complaint. This document will be filed on Thursday, and we anticipate it will be a public document. Additionally, the next Court date to be held in the case will be scheduled during this hearing on Thursday.
After receiving updated information, there are now 15 individual victims, plus one dog (16 total). The specific ages of these victims, from youngest to oldest is 25 to 88, eight victims are female, and seven victims are male.
To follow this case from this point forward, we would encourage you to follow the State Judicial Case of Interest page where hearings and public documents will be found: The People of the State of Colorado v. Soliman, Mohamed Sabry | Colorado Judicial Branch. We are informed that State Judicial will be live streaming the hearing and the hearing link can be found on the State Judicial Case of Interest page.
District Attorney Michael Dougherty stated, “We continue to work closely with our federal, state, and local partners in strong response to this horrific attack. We are united in our commitment to pursuing justice for all the victims, their many loved ones, and this community. We stand with the Jewish community and the people of Colorado against hate and terror.”

As in every criminal case, these charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
