Parks & Open Space 2024 Conservation Awards Ceremony Sept. 18.
Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Commissioners and Parks & Open Space staff will present their annual Conservation Awards at the Ron Stewart Parks & Open Space building in Longmont on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 3-4 p.m.
The Conservation Awards honor individuals or groups for outstanding contributions made to the preservation and protection of land-based environmental resources, promotion or preservation of cultural practices or cultural history, and community connections to open space.
- What: 2024 Parks & Open Space Conservation Awards
- When: Wednesday, Sept. 18, 3-4 p.m.
- Where: Ron Stewart Parks & Open Space headquarters building,
5201 St. Vrain Rd., Longmont (map).
The commissioners will present the following awards:
- Land Conservation Award
- Conrad Lattes for facilitating the acquisition of over 55,000 acres of open space land and conservation easements which are now permanently protected.
- Environmental Stewardship Award
- Innovation Center of St. Vrain Valley Schools for making significant impacts through the preservation of threatened wildlife, monitoring of natural ecosystems, and providing hands-on scientific education.
- Community Connections Awards
- Adriana Paola Palacios Luna for connecting the local Latinx community to nature through art and meaningful learning experiences.
- Susana Rodriguez for connecting the San Lazaro community to local parks and open space.
- Volunteer Awards
- Trace Baker for donating many years as a Volunteer Ranger, Conservation Easement Monitor, and Parks & Open Space Advisory Committee Member.
- Dianne Marshall for decades of sharing her knowledge as a Master Gardener.
