Mountain biker injured in crash in Lefthand Canyon
Boulder County, Colo. - On Saturday, June 27, 2020 at approximately 3:18 p.m. the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a mountain bike rider who was injured in the area of 4,000 block of Lefthand Canyon Drive.
The 45-year-old bike rider from Boulder was riding on a single-track trail when he rode off a small drop, landing sideways and flipping off his bike in a ravine. Rescuers were able to locate the patient with assistance of his riding partner. The patient was carried out to the trailhead in a litter and was transported to a Boulder area hospital by his wife. The rescue took approximately one and one-half hour hours.
Agencies assisting with this rescue effort included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Lefthand Fire Protection District, American Medical Response, and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
