Tackling the Bus Driver Shortage
As part of the strategies outlined by the MAAA the MAC recognizes the importance of supporting and promoting driver jobs and driver retention in our region as they are key to advance our mobility goals. With that in mind, this month's MAC meeting will be focusing on the driver shortage. We will be joined by an amazing panel of folks that can create dialogue and conservation on this situation and co-create possible solutions.
The panel will include:
- Colorado Association of Transit Agencies (CASTA)
- Via Mobility Service
- Boulder County Workforce
- Cultivate VetsGo
- RTD
- Boulder Valley School District
In addition, M4A has created a landing page for driving and volunteer opportunities. This page will promote this profession, advertise job opportunities, highlight a "Driver of the Quarter", and provide resources to stakeholders about the driver shortage. Check it out at this link and don't hesitate to spread the word! We aim to update this regularly!

RTD Fare Study Outcomes
RTD Board will review the recommendations of the 18-month fare study and fare equity analysis after 18 months, the largest fare study in RTD history!
Emerging from this study are proposed changes to fares to relieve some financial strain for the service. In short, the suggested changes would eliminate the regional fare price and replace a full fare price that would include both local and regional trips.
To learn more about the proposed changes, please check out this link for media coverage.
