Boulder, Colo. - In 2018, Boulder County Community Services was awarded a 2.5-million-dollar, five-year Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) grant to support the work of Homeless Solutions for Boulder County. These grant funds supported the addition of post housing case management support, known as supportive services, to increase housing stabilization and housing retention for individuals exiting homelessness with housing resources that did not have these supports post housing. In addition, this work supported increasing supports and engagement with landlords across Boulder County.

The Boulder County Pathways to Housing Stability initiative supports adults experiencing chronic homelessness who also have behavioral health needs in finding and maintaining stable housing. Integrating behavioral health treatment and recovery support services with housing navigation, the goal is to help clients move quickly into housing with access to evidence-based programs and services to ensure their transition from homelessness to housed is successful.

The Omni Institute’s report is a third-party evaluation of a five-year (SAMHSA) funded grant in Boulder County. The key findings from this evaluation reflected the impact post housing supports have on individuals transitioning into housing who had experienced homelessness.

Homeless Solutions for Boulder County was established in 2017 to addressing homelessness across the county by prioritizing helping individuals and families experiencing homelessness obtain a stable housing solution as quickly as possible. Visit the HSBC website for more information.
