Hiker assisted off of Mount Sanitas Goat Trail
Boulder County, Colo. - On Saturday, October 24, 2020, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center was notified of a hiker who had injured her ankle in the area of the Goat Trail at Mount Sanitas, just outside of Boulder.
The 78-year-old female injured her ankle while descending the trail and was unable to walk out. Members from the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, and Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District provided first aid to the patient. The patient was packaged in a litter and was carried out to the trailhead where she was transported to an area hospital by her husband.
Agencies assisting with this rescue effort included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, American Medical Response (AMR), Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group. The rescue took approximately one and a half hours.
