Highway 36 Intersection Improvement Project underway

Project to improve safety and reduce crashes by providing more space and visibility for bicyclists along the US 36 corridor

Boulder County, Colo. - The US 36 (North Foothills Hwy.) Intersection Improvement Project is a partnership project between CDOT, Boulder County, and the Town of Lyons to improve intersection safety on US 36 north of Boulder between Lefthand Canyon Dr. and Apple Valley Rd. west of Lyons.

In addition to repaving a section of US 36, this project will improve safety and reduce crashes by providing more space and visibility for bicyclists traveling through intersections along the US 36 corridor.

Project design is currently underway, with construction planned to start in spring 2023. The project is funded by Boulder County, CDOT and a Safer Main Streets grant.
