Boulder County’s Hazardous Materials Management Facility (HMMF) will be closed all day on Wednesday, Sept. 20 and at noon on Thursday, Sept. 21 so staff can participate in training. The HMMF, located at 1901 63rd St. In Boulder, will reopen for residential drop-off at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 22.

No Appointments Needed to Drop Off Materials; Erie and Broomfield residential waste also accepted

The doors of the county’s Hazardous Materials Management Facility (HMMF) are open without appointment. Residents of Boulder County, including all of Erie, and the City and County of Broomfield are welcome to stop by to dispose of items like paint, motor oil, batteries, fertilizers, bleach, household cleaners, and a lot more.

Residential drop-off is available between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday. Businesses in both Boulder and Broomfield counties are still required to make an appointment due to the volume and types of waste typically brought into the facility by these users. The HMMF also accepts waste from residents outside of the Boulder County for a fee. Business owners and managers can learn more about their options by visiting the HMMF for businesses webpage.

A complete list of what is and what isn’t accepted at the HMMF is available at www.BoCo.org/HMMF. Questions can also be sent to hazmatall@bouldercounty.org or call 720-564-2251.
