Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Public Works’ Resource Conservation Division has opened grant applications for 2027 Circular Economy Fund projects. Applications are due by Sept. 30, 2026. Eligible projects support waste reduction and resource diversion in the service area.
Resource diversion means preventing materials from going to a landfill or other environmentally harmful ends through methods such as recycling, composting, reuse, and environmental design. The three funding categories are:
- Consumer behavior and practices;
- Collection and/or processing of materials; and,
- Manufacturing and design.
The service area includes Boulder County, the City and County of Broomfield, and the Town of Erie. Local governments, non-profits, school districts, individual schools, private companies, and incorporated or unincorporated communities may apply. Project requests may be between $1,000 - $30,000.

About the Sustainability Tax
The Circular Economy Fund Program is funded by Boulder County’s Sustainability Tax. In 2019, Boulder County voters approved a 15-year extension of the Boulder County Sustainability Tax, a 0.125% sales and use tax, that runs through the end 2034.
The Circular Economy Funding Program has been in place for the past 29 years and has provided over $1.5 million to local groups seeking to advance the Circular Economy and make a real impact on climate change through innovative and progressive projects that enhance resource conservation and foster circularity in Boulder County.
