DC-24-0004 Draft Text Amendments Public Comment Period
Boarding House and Group Care or Foster Home Use Classifications to be updated in Land Use Code Docket DC-24-0004
Boulder County, Colo. - The proposed draft text amendments for Docket DC-24-0004: Text Amendments to the Land Use Code related to residential uses, specifically Article 4 Boarding House and Group Care or Foster Home use classifications, are now available for review and feedback.

The draft proposes to:
- Remove the Boarding House Use.
- Remove the Group Care or Foster Home Use.
- Define and add a new Group Home Facility Use.
- Define a Group Home and amend the Household definition to clarify that a Group Home is considered a Household and thus may operate within a Dwelling Unit as a by right use.
Staff is requesting input from the public, relevant agencies, and adjacent jurisdictions on this draft. Written comments may be submitted via email to cbyrne@bouldercounty.gov, or mailed to the Community Planning & Permitting Department at P.O. Box 471, Boulder, Colorado, 80306.
Please submit comments no later than April 24, 2024.
Comments will help staff refine the draft text prior to taking the proposal forward to public hearings before the Boulder County Planning Commission and the Boulder County Board of County Commissioners. Public hearings have not been confirmed at this time, although staff anticipates taking the proposal to Planning Commission on May 21, 2025. Confirmation of the public hearing dates and times will be published on the DC-24-0004 webpage and in local newspapers.
