Boulder County, Colo. – Boulder County Human Services has released a Request for Applications (RFA) for programs that support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), autism, or brain injury. Local organizations are invited to apply for funding to create or expand services for this community. All programs must help increase access, inclusion, and opportunity.
This RFA is guided by the findings of the Boulder County IDD Needs Assessment, which was completed in 2018 based on feedback from underserved groups, including people of color and aging caregivers. The assessment identified a need for more direct services – as well as more inclusive social and recreational opportunities – for people with disabilities.
The roughly $500,000 in funding is available thanks to the IDD Mill Levy, which was first approved by Boulder County voters in 2002. This funding helps fill critical service gaps not covered by state or federal programs. It aims to create more fair and equal opportunities for everyone.
