Boulder County, Colo. The Office of the Boulder County Coroner is pleased to announce a new educational opportunity for high school and university students interested in pursuing careers in forensic science. The Coroner’s Forensic Science Academy, taking place on March 17, is a half-day immersive experience where curiosity meets cutting-edge technology.

Designed for currently enrolled students with a passion for forensic science, the academy offers a hands-on introduction to forensic public service careers including medicolegal death investigation, morgue operations, and family assistance services.

Participants will engage in a variety of learning environments, including a staged field response where they will document observations and contemplate investigative next steps, a simulated virtual autopsy demonstrating advanced lab techniques, and conversations with role players to simulate the interview and family support scenarios. This academy offers a rare opportunity for students to explore the dynamic intersection of science, investigation, and public service.
