Community Action Program’s People Engaged in Raising Leaders to offer Boards and Commissions Training in November 2020

Boulder County, Colo. - People Engaged in Raising Leaders’ (PERL), in partnership with Social Venture Partners (SVP), is hosting a second Boards and Commissions training this year for interested participants. Back by popular demand, this Boards and Commissions training course will begin Nov. 5 and end on Nov. 27, 2020.

Classes will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the month of November from 6-7:30 p.m. online via Zoom.

  • WHEN: Nov. 5-27, 2020 on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • TIME: 6-7:30 p.m.
  • WHERE: Online via Zoom Conference Platform

The Boards and Commissions trainings will cover topics such as: Boards Roles and Responsibilities, Board Applications and Interviewing, Board Culture and Survival Strategies, and Board Oversight/Management. There will also be a sponsored Meet-and-Greet and a Boards Fair where trainees will have an opportunity to be in the room with current board members and leaders. Speakers as part of this program include Guillermo Estrada-Rivera, Cultural Brokers/SUMA, Nia Wassink, Owner of Mission Launch, and Robin Valdez, Business Operations Manager in Boulder County Commissioners’ Office.

There are no fees associated with the offered training course, but there are limited seats available. Interested participants will need internet, a computer, and the appropriate application (Zoom) for the course.
