Climber Rescued From Chautauqua Park in Boulder

Boulder County, Colo. -

On Thursday, April 9th 2020 at approximately 4:26 p.m. the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a climber who became stuck in the area of the Dodge Block Route on the 2nd Flatiron, just outside of the City of Boulder. The climber was by himself and was not using climbing equipment.

Members of the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group climbed up to the stuck party, secured him and lowered him to the ground. The rescue took approximately two hours.

Agencies assisting with this rescue effort included: Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, and the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group.
