Boulder County, Colo. – The Boulder County Housing Authority (BCHA) has released its 2024 Annual Report, offering a snapshot of progress made across 36 below-market-rate housing properties and services provided to the 2,868 residents who call them home. The report highlights major renovations at Beaver Creek in Nederland and Eagle Place in Niwot, as well as the opening of Willoughby Corner in Lafayette, Colorado’s largest all-electric, Zero Energy Ready Home housing community. In addition to extensive geothermal and solar energy systems, Willoughby Corner includes 165 homes – some of which are still leasing – with more to come.

“I wake up every morning with a smile,” said Dawn Wetmore, resident at Búho Place, a 63-unit building at Willoughby Corner for residents aged 55 and over. “Willoughby Corner is bright, cheerful, and thoughtfully designed for seniors like me. With the money I’m saving, I can go out with friends and not worry about making ends meet.”

In 2024, BCHA managed more than $380 million in assets and more than 60 acres of housing property. The Housing Choice Voucher program served 1,076 voucher holders, providing an average of $1,509 in monthly rent support per household. BCHA also completed 9,446 work orders for residents, made 131 homes available for new renters following resident move-outs, and continued to offer resident benefits such as EcoPasses, older adult services, and financial stability support.

This annual report follows a historic year for housing in Boulder County. In April, the Boulder County Housing Department was created as a stand-alone department to elevate housing as a countywide priority. The new department brings together all of Boulder County’s housing and homelessness-related programs, including BCHA, under one roof for a more strategic, coordinated approach.
