America Recycles Day is Nov. 15; Take a tour of the Recycling Center and HMMF to celebrate

Boulder County, Colo. - Tuesday, Nov 15 is officially America Recycles Day and county residents can take part in the celebration by visiting and touring the Boulder County Recycling Center and Hazardous Materials Management Facility (HMMF) at 1901 63rd St. in Boulder. Tours of each facility will be available:

  • Recycling Center self-guided tour

    • 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • No registration necessary

This is the first time tours have been available at the HMMF and the Recycling Center has been recently reopened for self-guided tours, so we’ll be excited to see everyone who stops by.

America Recycles Day was originally started by Keep America Beautiful to promote and celebrate recycling in across the country. Join Keep America Beautiful and the almost 90,000 people nationwide who have already taken the #BERECYCLED pledge to help make recycling a priority in your community.

HMMF now open for drop-offs without appointment

If you can’t make it to the HMMF for America Recycles Day but still want to drop off household hazardous materials, like paint, batteries, lightbulbs, or pesticides, you can now stop by during normal business hours without having to make an appointment. Visit www.BoCo.org/HMMF for hours and to learn about what is accepted at the facility.

Business owners are also welcome to use the HMMF. Check out the website to learn more about services offered to local businesses.

Don’t forget, the HMMF is open to residents of Broomfield and all of Erie, and they have a FREE reuse area with lots of supplies that may help with your next home project.
