37-year-old skier dies after colliding with a tree at Eldora Mountain Resort

Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Communications Center received a phone call shortly before 12:00 p.m. today regarding a skier who collided with a tree at Eldora Mountain Resort, located at 2861 Lake Eldora Ski Rd., in unincorporated Boulder County.

Upon arrival, first responders found a 37-year-old male who had sustained critical injuries as result of colliding with a tree on the Corona ski run. Although a Flight for Life helicopter was initially launched, the skier was pronounced dead at the scene.

Based on witness accounts, there is no indication at this time that any suspicious occurred. We also do not believe that any other skiers were involved in the collision.

The identification of the decedent, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be determined by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office.
