Boulder County Board of Health (BOH)

The Boulder County Board of Health (BOH) consists of five volunteer Boulder County residents who are appointed by the Boulder County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to serve five-year, staggered terms. The BOH was re-established in accordance with the Colorado Public Health Act of 2008 (Colorado Revised Statutes [C.R.S.] Section §25-1-508) and serves as the governing board for Boulder County Public Health (BCPH), whose mission is to protect, promote, and enhance the health and well-being of all people and the environment in Boulder County.

BOH Responsibilities

BOH responsibilities include assuring appropriate policy for BCPH, hiring and supervising the Boulder County public health director, approving the department’s budget, and providing oversight of department operations.
