The Boulder County Board of Health (BOH) consists of five volunteer Boulder County residents who are appointed by the Boulder County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to serve five-year, staggered terms. The BOH was re-established in accordance with the Colorado Public Health Act of 2008 (Colorado Revised Statutes [C.R.S.] Section §25-1-508) and serves as the governing board for Boulder County Public Health (BCPH), whose mission is to protect, promote, and enhance the health and well-being of all people and the environment in Boulder County.
BOH Responsibilities
BOH responsibilities include assuring appropriate policy for BCPH, hiring and supervising the Boulder County public health director, approving the department’s budget, and providing oversight of department operations.
Meeting Schedule
Regular Board of Health meetings are held on the second Monday of each month beginning at 5:30 p.m. Meeting documents will be posted here on the Friday prior to the next meeting.
Members of the public can attend in person or virtually.

Special meetings may be called at the discretion of the Board of Health president, BCPH executive director, or a majority of the Board members. Additional special meetings, study sessions, and executive sessions are held, as required, and all meetings are conducted and open to the public in accordance with C.R.S. §24-6-401, as amended (“Colorado Open Meetings Law”).

Parking & Room Location
Members of the public will park in the public parking lot and enter through the Justice Center’s front door. The meeting will be held in the Second Floor Training Room (accessible by stairs and elevator). Members of the public can continue to join the meeting virtually by the Microsoft Teams Meeting Link below.
Public Participation
A public comment period is held at the beginning of all regular meetings when members of the public can comment on items not scheduled for public hearing (they may also speak during the public hearings).
A sign-up form will be listed here 72 hours prior to the next Board of Health meeting. Attendees may also sign up to speak in person at the beginning of the meeting.
Only individuals who have provided their information prior to the start of the meeting will be permitted to speak. At the meeting, each person will be permitted up to 3 minutes to speak, subject to cumulative time limits that may be in effect. Written public comments will be provided to all Board members whether or not the individual attends the meeting. The Board will rely upon written public comments alone unless the comment states that the individual wishes to speak at the meeting.
