Purpose/Background

Boulder County Building Services (BCBS), a Division of Public Works, acting as GC, is requesting Bids from qualified contractors for specific scopes of work associated to the Justice Center- Inmate Holding Area Expansion located at 1777 6th Street, Boulder, CO 80302.

The scope, in general, involves expansion and remodel of the existing Inmate holding area located in the basement of the Justice Center. Expansion will add 643 sqft. to the existing space requiring removal and construction of non-load bearing walls, upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and alterations to concrete flatwork in the parking garage. An additional trench drain in garage connects to a new oil/sand interceptor that connects to a sump with a sewage ejector.

  • Subcontracts needed, to work in coordination with BCBS staff, to successfully complete this scope include: Demolition (Concrete & CMU), Masonry, Concrete, Fire Sprinkler, Mechanical, Plumbing, Detention Hollow Metal & Hardware, Glazing, and Acoustical Ceilings & Paneling.
  • Boulder County Building Services will have inhouse crews available to perform all interior metal stud framing, wall/ceiling insulation, drywall, mud & paint finish, HVAC Controls, LV Cabling, Fire Alarm and Electrical Systems.

Written Inquiries

All inquiries regarding this BID will be submitted via email to the Boulder County Purchasing Office at purchasing@bouldercounty.org on or before 2:00 p.m. March 3, 2023. A response from the county to all inquiries will be posted and sent via email no later than March 10, 2023.
