Purpose/Background

This project is intended to provide and install NO PARKING and Parking Permissive signage at up to 12 specific locations of trailheads and trail access locations in Boulder County. The signage is designed to safely manage parking and travel on county roads. The locations will be on Boulder County maintained roadways.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions during the year 2020, Boulder County, State and Federally managed trailheads, like many along the Colorado Front Range experienced an exponential increase in user traffic. As a result, the parking at these trailheads went beyond the normally expected parking capacities and began to impact nearby roadways and residences, compromising the safe use of the roads, including emergency vehicle access.
